Genesis 1:1 — “In the beginning . . . “
These three most famous words set the stage for the most epic adventure, story — I don’t know what to call it. We need a new word to properly describe the grandness of what God set into place in the beginning.
Because God is eternal, He lives outside of time. But then He created it and laid the foundation for everything that would come after it in history and into eternity future.
Listen to what God reveals about Himself in His Word as we begin our study of the book of Genesis.
From the beginning, God revealed important Truths about Himself that Israel needed to know—and we need to know.
These Truths hold all things together, which is especially comforting when everything around us seems to be falling apart.
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:17
If we believe and act on what God has revealed in Genesis 1, it will change our lives. This is the power of God and His Word.
Genesis 1 isn’t simply the beginning of a grand story. It’s the beginning of what we need to know and believe about God because:
“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
