When something spectacular happens in your life, you celebrate.
When it happens twice, you stand stunned and speechless.
And then you celebrate A LOT!
The first time it happened, I was in high school, and it wasn’t an “it,” she was a “who.” God brought someone into my life to help change my life. God sent me Muriel.
Muriel introduced me to what it really meant to have a relationship with God. Knowing her not only changed my life, in many ways it saved it.
God used the truths Muriel taught me to draw me back to Himself after I’d decided I could do a better job of running my life than He could. (Oh, how I was wrong.)
Several years later in a different city and state, I sat in my living room praying for another Muriel.
I was now married with children. I wanted to be a wife and mother whose faith looked more like hers.
Could God Send Me Another Muriel?
I prayed fervently. Soon after, Grace Hamrick showed up at my church.
Grace and her husband Larry said they came because the Lord led them. I prefer to take credit. Who can doubt but that God sent them in answer to MY prayers.
The first time I heard Grace teach, I knew she was my South Carolina Muriel.
The following week I called her at home and said, “You don’t know me, but I was wondering if you’d be willing to mentor me.”
She agreed and, for over a year, we met almost every week.
Grace picked up where Muriel left off. And for the past twenty years, she’s been teaching me how to walk by pure faith in the Lord and to fall more in love with the Bible.
I’m thrilled beyond words that, through her first book, countless others can now hear her story of God’s transforming grace that I’ve been privileged to learn from her:
Just Grace
The Transforming Power of God’s Amazing Grace
in the Life of an Ordinary Woman
Just Grace: The Transforming Power of God’s Amazing Grace in the Life of an Ordinary Woman is Grace Hamrick’s story. A foolish decision made as a teenager had a devastating effect on her and an all-consuming guilt was destroying her, eventually putting her on a self-destructive path.
This memoir is a story of grace — God’s incredible, redeeming grace that rescued her. She describes how she came to realize her deep need for God’s grace through some of the heart-wrenching circumstances of her life.
We live in a world where there is much pain and suffering, and it is easy to feel like there is no hope, no future, no way of ever changing. But there is hope; and God can and does change people. There is no sin so great He cannot forgive; there is no life so messed up He cannot restore. There is no person so broken that He cannot mend. No one is ever beyond the reach of God’s mercy and grace. Grace Hamrick is living proof it is never too late.
This is a book you’re going to want to read and pass around to all your friends. Order a copy for yourself and a copy to give away: To order it from Amazon.com, click HERE.
