I love Christmas carols.

Elf may be right. “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”

I belt out Christmas carols all season long.

I doubt Christmas cheer would spread, though, if I sang loud for all to hear. Maybe headaches? Earmuffs?

Regardless of how I sing, I at least know the words, or so I thought.

Christian comedian Tim Hawkins made me realize I’ve been missing something — something hilarious.

I hadn’t heard what Tim heard.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

As funny as Tim makes these lyrics, Noël Regney, the author of Do You Hear What I Hear? nailed it when he wrote:

The child, the child
Sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light.
He will bring us goodness and light!

I remain amazed how God chose to save the world.

A child sleeping in the night.

Jesus brought us goodness and light and salvation from sin, making Christmas one of the two most joyous seasons of the year.

Easter, with His Resurrection, bookends Christmas and brings eternal joy.

We really should have Easter carols.

Now go enjoy this Christmas season, belt out Christmas carols for all to hear and spread Christmas cheer!

And while you’re spreading things, spread the laughter by sharing this post by email and on all your favorite social media. Thanks!
