“If I guarantee you an ‘A’ in the class, will you stay in it?” the college professor asked the overwhelmed student.

She wisely took the deal, and promptly made an “A” all on her own.

Once the professor took away the threat of failure, the student thrived.

Christ has offered us the same deal.

In Christ, we already have an “A.”

We can never lose any of Christ’s love, nor can we gain any more of it.

We can come to Christ just as we are, at any point, and we’ll find nothing but love and grace.

My friend Randy Wilson shared the story of the professor in church on Sunday. Crowder’s song “Come As You Are,” (at the bottom of this post) could have been the theme song to Randy’s powerful sermon.

Thirst Was Made For Water . . . Huh?

Thirst was made for water

What a powerful, upside-down thought:

Water wasn’t created to quench our thirst.

God created thirst in us so we’d drink the water He’d already provided—the water our bodies need in order to survive.

Likewise, God didn’t provide us with Truth in order to satisfy our curiosity.

God stirs up in each of us a deep thirst for Truth, so that we’ll seek it out and find it.

“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
~ Jeremiah 29:13

The Truth is ready to be found, and it is found in the person of Jesus Christ.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
~  John 14:6

Thank God for inquiring minds!

Thank God for thirst!

Drink up!
