Jesus is Born, The True Story – Christmas According to Kids

Jesus is Born - The True Story According to Kids via

If there’s someone who doesn’t know the story about Christmas and the birth of Jesus, perhaps it’s because he was only born yesterday. Literally. Or at least in the past year, and he’s still discovering his toes.

While most know about Christmas, how many know the true story?

I thought I did until I watched this video. The kids in this hilarious video set the story straight. And apparently, it involves a purple stuffed hippo.

(If you’re reading this on email, you have to go to my blog to see the video. Click “Read More.”)

I love this version of the Christmas story, but, I’m pretty sure the wise men didn’t really bring Jesus gold, Frankenstein, and myrrh — and definitely not a stuffed hippo.

But they got one thing completely right. The new baby changed the world.

He changed me, too, and for that, I’m eternally grateful.

Merry Christmas!

Marcel The Shell with Shoes On — Because Laughter Is Good for the Soul

Because laughter is good for the soul, watch the hilarious video of Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.

Laughter is good for the soul.

Laughter is good. It’s better than good. It’s amazing.

Especially on Mondays.

I have a huge week ahead of me. Maybe you do, too.

To prepare, I thought we could all start with a good laugh.

I used to think I couldn’t laugh during times of terrible sadness (so many ridiculous shootings lately — so much tragic death). But I’ve changed my mind the more I’ve come to understand God’s sovereignty.

His sovereignty tells me that no matter what happens, we can trust Him to care for us.

We can know His peace in the chaos.

And we can laugh and enjoy this wonderful world He’s given us.

This video — this hilariously strange video — will make you laugh.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

If you haven’t already seen Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, get ready.

It’s bizarre and adorable.

And I dare you not to laugh.

If you’ve watched it already, enjoy it again for the 100th time or more — because I know you’re going to watch it.

“You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
~ Psalm 16:11

“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter
And your lips with shouting.”
~ Job 8:21

Fun Friday – Do You Hear What I Hear? Say What? (Tim Hawkins)

Click to listen to the hilarious comedy of Tim Hawkins "Do You Hear What I Hear?" Say what??? via

I love Christmas carols.

Elf may be right. “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”

I belt out Christmas carols all season long.

I doubt Christmas cheer would spread, though, if I sang loud for all to hear. Maybe headaches? Earmuffs?

Regardless of how I sing, I at least know the words, or so I thought.

Christian comedian Tim Hawkins made me realize I’ve been missing something — something hilarious.

I hadn’t heard what Tim heard.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

As funny as Tim makes these lyrics, Noël Regney, the author of Do You Hear What I Hear? nailed it when he wrote:

The child, the child
Sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light.
He will bring us goodness and light!

I remain amazed how God chose to save the world.

A child sleeping in the night.

Jesus brought us goodness and light and salvation from sin, making Christmas one of the two most joyous seasons of the year.

Easter, with His Resurrection, bookends Christmas and brings eternal joy.

We really should have Easter carols.

Now go enjoy this Christmas season, belt out Christmas carols for all to hear and spread Christmas cheer!

And while you’re spreading things, spread the laughter by sharing this post by email and on all your favorite social media. Thanks!

Bahaha! I hadn't heard what comedian #TimHawkins heard in the #ChristmasCarol: Do You Hear What I Hear? #FunFriday Click To Tweet
