We Interrupt These Blog Posts to Bring You A Hurricane

As soon as I made my plans, Hurricane Irma came and wrecked them. Thanks, a lot.

I’d planned to finish my Enoch blog posts last week, but then we had to jump into Hurricane Irma Readiness mode. My blog instantly became low priority.

My heart breaks at the sight on the news of all those who lost so much in Irma — especially those who lost their lives. It’s devastating!

Thanks, Irma

I’m grateful to report, though, that we weathered Irma incredibly well. We only lost our power for a few hours. Long enough to remind me how much I depend on it. Thanks, Irma.

How did Abraham Lincoln read by candlelight every night? It’s hard. I had to get out my book-light, which wasn’t much brighter than a candle anyway.

We almost lost a tree, too. Our Chinese Elm is now leaning at about a 45º angle. This is good, though, because it’s been growing at an 85º angle since the beginning. Thanks, Irma. [Read more…]

Don’t Misunderstand the Song “What a Beautiful Name” — Jesus Doesn’t Need You, But He Wants You

Don't Misunderstand the song "What a Beautiful Name" by Hillsong ~ Jesus Doesn't Need You, But He Wants You (via www.JeanWilund.com)I Misunderstood

The first time I heard What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong I misunderstood.

The song is topping the charts and played in churches around the world — and I’m not saying it’s wrong — but something about it sat wrong with me.

The line about Jesus not wanting heaven without you and me seemed off.

(Believe it or not, due to copyright laws, I’m not allowed to quote the line in the song. Crazy world we live in! But you can read the lyric in the music video below.)

That line bothered me only because it could be misunderstood.

It sounded to me like the song was saying:

Jesus didn’t want Heaven if we couldn’t be in it.

It wasn’t complete without us.

He needed us so He came down to get us.

Doesn’t that sound sweet? Don’t you feel loved?

Except, No! [Read more…]

Three Powerful Ways Christ Said I Love You

Three ways Christ Said I Love You via www.JeanWilund.com

I love you.

The three best words ever spoken.

In French, they say Je t’aime.

In Italian, Ti amo. Spanish, Te amo.

Germans say Ich liebe dich.

But on Good Friday, Christ said I love you with three different words: It is finished.

With these three words, Christ had taken all our sin upon Himself and set us free from its destructive, powerful grip. He bought us eternal life.

No more would we have to pay the penalty of our sin. Christ paid it all. It is finished.

I love you couldn’t be said better . . . unless perhaps followed by three other words on the third day: He is risen.

On this Good Friday, let’s focus on these three powerful, extravagant ways Jesus said to us, I love you.

God’s Truth, A Shroud of Swiss Alps Clouds, and an Early Morning Lesson

The Lesson of The Shroud of Clouds & Veiled Truth. Like Cloud shrouding the glorious view of the Swiss Alps, life can veil the truth of the Gospel from our eyes. Wake up and seek the Lord while He may be found. Isaiah 55:6 via www.JeanWilund.com Live in God's Truth. (Kiental, Switzerland on the balcony of the Haus Schönegg B&B.)

I’m Awake Now!

I opened my eyes just before 7:00 am as I’ve done countless times. But never before had the view from my bed slapped me so fully awake. [Read more…]
