We Will Not Forget — We Must Not Forget

View unforgetable music video "We Will Not Forget" by Mark Harris & Interview w/ Jim Caviezel on filming The Passion of the Christ

My son Bobby met a war hero.

We will not forget. We must not forget.

Bobby spent almost an hour talking with a man who’d fought on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and at the Battle of the Bulge.

Bobby held this hero’s medal and marveled at the stories he shared of landing on the beaches of Normandy.

He told of working his way off the front of the landing craft and through the surf as the Germans shattered his fellow soldiers behind him.

And he talked of being shot seven times — three times on D-Day and four in the Battle of the Bulge.

We will not forget. We must not forget.

During the Battle of the Bulge, enemy fire had left a gaping hole in his leg, so he hunkered down in a foxhole with a friend.

The searing pain of fire ants gnawing into his wound urged him back out only to be shot again.

A bullet ricocheted off a bone in his arm and landed in his head.

His friend took a shot directly to the head and miraculously survived.

These two soldiers fought together for each other, for their country, and for freedom.

We will not forget. We must not forget.

I asked Bobby what stood out in his mind from his time meeting this great man.

He told me he’ll never forget the man’s refusal to see himself as a hero. But most of all, he’ll never forget when he said, “I’d do it all again.”

We will not forget. We must not forget.

Last summer Larry and I had the distinct honor to meet a WWII hero as well.

Watch this incredible music video We Will Not Forget by Mark Harris.

The footage is amazing. And what a message.

Then watch the equally amazing interview with actor Jim Caviezel, who portrayed Jesus Christ in the movie The Passion of the Christ.

You’re gonna need a large cup of coffee and some time for Jim Caviezel’s interview, but you’ll be glad you did.

The music video is short, but powerful.

While you’re watching, pray.

Pray for our soldiers who are serving today.

Thank God for all those who bought our freedom with their lives.

Thank Him for the countless others who’ve fought for freedom since.

And thank Him, most of all, for His Son Jesus Christ, who bought our eternal freedom with His blood. [Read more…]

God Bless Our Soldiers & Al Rodrigues, Pearl Harbor Survivor

Listen to Pearl Harbor Survivor Al Rodrigues share his story. And be encouraged to live Free in Christ.

I ran too slow to catch a 95-year-old war hero.

To be fair, he had a head start.

Al Rodrigues — THE Al Rodrigues — walked out the back gate and out of our reach at the Pearl Harbor Memorial.

Al is one of the last remaining survivors of Pearl Harbor.

I just wanted a chance to tell him thanks.

I watched a lady help Al climb into a van and drive off with him.

Then I noticed the parking lot led right past the entrance of the memorial. So Larry and I ran.

If we ran fast enough, we could at least wave to him as he drove by.

And we did. We stood on the side walk and waved. I blew him kisses.

Next thing we knew, the van pulled over and Al climbed out of the van to speak with us.

Excited, I felt like a teenage groupie.

Al gave years of his life — nearly gave his actual life — to serve our country and ensure our freedom.

We still live free today because Al Rodrigues and others like him held nothing back.

We must never forget or take our freedom for granted.

Let’s pray continually for our soldiers, our leaders, and our country.

Let’s pray that God will turn the hearts of America back to following Christ.

Apart from Christ we can do nothing. (John 15:5)

He’s the power we need to be a powerful nation and a blessing and great influence on the world.

He gave His life to buy our eternal freedom. Let’s live as people who are free! (1 Peter 2:16)

We Americans are free. We’d never want that taken away from us.

Christians are free, too. Why would live any other way than free?

Free from sin. Free from shame. Free from guilt.

Amen!

We should enjoy our freedom to the fullest! That’s the biggest thanks we can give our soldiers and our Lord.

God bless the USA.

Thank you, Al Rodrigues! Thank you to all our military!
