Praise Picture: Not Every Tree Falls In A Storm (Colossians 2:7)
Some days threaten to knock us to the ground more than others. Days like 9-11, for instance. Days when our hearts have absorbed all the pain they can take.
But not every tree falls in a storm.
Banyan trees send down roots from seemingly every corner, creating more than one trunk, each with deep roots.
It reminds me of the person who’s let his roots grow deep into Christ.
As he’s taken in truth from God’s Word day after day, his faith grows more roots. When the storm rages, his faith holds him, having grown roots stronger and wider than those who’ve looked to Christ, but only glance at His Word.
Let your roots grow deep into Christ, seeking Him with your whole heart through the Word of God. Then, and only then, will you grow strong in truth.
Truth withstands the fiercest storm.
Faith rooted in truth produces thankfulness in the midst of turmoil. It’s not just possible, it’s inevitable.
