How God Turned “How Dare She!” into “Please Forgive Me.” — That’s My Story
Eons ago a dear friend said something I can’t remember, but at the time all I could think was, “How dare she!”
I stewed over her verbal slight until it grew in my mind into a monstrous, unforgivable offense.
It basically destroyed our friendship, and she didn’t even know it. But I did. Every thought of her made me sick.
But then I got invited to a Women to Women conference in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The flyer said Nancy Leigh DeMoss (now Wolgemuth) would be sharing on brokenness and revival. I’d never heard of Nancy, nor did I have a clue what she meant by brokenness or revival. But she’d promised to help us with unforgiveness. Plus, it was a weekend at the beach with friends.
I signed up. And God used it to change my life forever.
God is Writing a Story
As my writer friends will tell you, without conflict, there’s no story. Well, guess what. God is writing a story in each of our lives.
Yep. We all face conflict. But when God brings the Word of God into the conflicts in our lives, His Word never fails to do its perfect work.
Some of us are just slow learners. But thankfully, God is faithful, unfailing, and wonderfully relentless.
Recently, I got to share my story with Revive Our Hearts ministry (ROH) as part of their God is Writing a Story series, and today they shared it in the ROH podcast with Nancy Wolgemuth and Dannah Gresh.
I pray God will encourage you with how He brought me from a cold-hearted, “How dare she!” to a remorseful, “Please forgive me.”
