God does all things well — like showing off at sunset.

My sister Melissa took this stunning photo on her way back to Georgia recently.

Smack in the middle of Melissa making several life decisions, God keeps showing up. He’s been refining her through ants and encouraging her through sunsets.

In all of this, He’s glorified Himself.

Which brings me to my Monday Music selection.

I first featured the song Glorify over a year ago. When I saw my sister’s photo of the sunset, I knew I had to repost it.

Glorify Your Name!
Father, glorify!

Glorify was written by my beautiful and talented friend Linda Barnhill and powerfully sung by the equally beautiful and talented Crystal Lewis, who I’d also like to have as a friend.

This song should be our theme song as we move into our day and week.

Some of us may be facing a hum-drum week — another long week of the same old thing.

Some of us wish we were facing a hum-drum week. We’re facing a humdinger — a fiery furnace.

God uses both the hum-drum and the fire to glorify His name.

Whatever you’re facing, don’t look past it to find God on the other side.

Look in it. Here’s there, and He will not leave you alone.

Jesus, glorify!

“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
~ I Peter 1:6-7

Jesus, purify!

Remember, God only gives us what is necessary. If you’re in a trial, it’s necessary.

Knowing your trial is necessary, doesn’t necessarily make it easy.

Some trials are beyond difficult. But that doesn’t change the facts.

If we rejoice in our trials, it will result in the strengthening of our faith which will bring much praise, glory, and honor to Jesus Christ.

That’s what it’s all about!

Jesus, glorify!

We see the beauty of God’s ways when the flame of passion for His Name is lit within us, and we find ourselves content — even in the midst of our worst trials. (Philippians 4:4-13)

Only God can do such a thing.

Our natural selves see only two options: flight or fight.

God provides a third: rest.

Rest in Christ today and see what God will do.

Father, glorify!

Glorify Your Name. Raise the banner. Raise it high. Father, glorify.

Jesus, light the flame. Give us passion for your Name. Jesus, light the flame

Purify Your bride. Cleanse her with Your holy fire. Jesus, purify.

How have you seen God glorify His name recently? I’d love to hear from you in the comment section.
