Believe and remember what Jesus has said.

This encouragement rings out in today’s reading in Matthew 26:17-35. And in John 14:1.

Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.
~ John 14:1.

As we read today’s passages in Matthew, we see clearly that God orchestrated everything.

Since the beginning of time, it’s never been man acting and God reacting.

In every section, we see Jesus basically telling His disciples, “This is going to happen . . . and this is going to happen . . . ”

Imagine if they’d believed Him. And remembered.

But then again, everything happened just as God had predetermined.

What about Us? Will we Believe?

Will we believe what God has told us so clearly in His Word?

Will we believe what He says about our hearts?

Let’s not be a Peter and declare, “I would never . . . !”

Oh, yes, we will. Our hearts are no better than his.

And let’s definitely not be a Judas.

Don’t harden your heart.

If you feel God drawing you, don’t turn away. Don’t ignore His warnings. Bow to Him in full humility and be saved.

Believe and remember what Jesus says.

Believe and remember who Jesus is. That He’s sovereign. And filled with grace and wisdom.

Let’s search the Bible and learn all we can about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

And remember. Remember it all. And obey.

If we believe and remember, our hearts will find rest, even in the midst of trouble.

Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God; Believe also in Me.
~ John 14:1 ESV
