We Will Not, Must Not, Forget our Heroes

My son Bobby met a war hero.

We will not forget. We must not forget.

Bobby held this hero’s medal and spent almost an hour talking with a man who’d fought on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and at the Battle of the Bulge. [Read more…]

The Ultimate Know-It-All (Part 2) — How Understanding God’s Omniscience Makes A Difference Today

God - The Ultimate Know-It-All Part 2 (From the Never-Ending, Ever-Growing List of the Character Traits of God) via www.JeanWilund.com

Understanding Makes a Difference

Abi & Justice Our cat, Abi, loves our dog, Justice.

Justice fears Abi.

It probably stems from Justice’s first night in our home. Our previous cat, Noir, jumped on his head and attempted to shred his face.

Noir didn’t understand Justice would never hurt her. Now Justice can’t understand Abi won’t hurt him.

So, for the last seven years, Justice squirms away in fear whenever Abi rubs against his legs.

What we know and understand makes a difference.

In Part 1, we looked at what it means that God is All-Knowing. Today, we’ll consider how understanding that makes a difference in our lives today.  [Read more…]

God – The Ultimate Know-It-All (Part 1)

Mensa, otherwise known as The Society of Know-It-Alls, admitted little Elise Tan-Roberts into their club in 2009 when she was only 845 days old.

At 2-years old, her IQ was 156, just short of Albert Einstein’s 160. Not too shabby.

She could talk at 5-months old.

She could recite 35 of the world’s capitals at age 2.

Imagine what God’s IQ is if it could be measured? [Read more…]

Don’t Misunderstand the Song “What a Beautiful Name” — Jesus Doesn’t Need You, But He Wants You

Don't Misunderstand the song "What a Beautiful Name" by Hillsong ~ Jesus Doesn't Need You, But He Wants You (via www.JeanWilund.com)I Misunderstood

The first time I heard What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong I misunderstood.

The song is topping the charts and played in churches around the world, but something about it sat wrong with me.

The line about Jesus not wanting heaven without you and me seemed off.

That line bothered me only because it could be misunderstood.

It sounded to me like the song was saying:

Jesus didn’t want Heaven if we couldn’t be in it.

It wasn’t complete without us.

He needed us so He came down to get us.

Doesn’t that sound sweet? Don’t you feel loved?

Except, No! [Read more…]

Life Is Either a Daring Adventure Or Nothing At All ~ Take It On!

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. Trust God and take it on. (Ephesians 3:20) via www.Jeanwilund.com

No Fear

The bodyboarder on the island of Kauai had no fear — or perhaps no sense.

He crouched on the beach and studied the waves.

Ignoring ones reasonable men would choose, he waited on the ridiculous waves. Waves that would tower over his head and possess the power to crush him.

Only then did he charge. Straight into them. Fearless.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
-Helen Keller

Some of us stand before crushing waves and see terror. Others see a daring adventure.

As a staunch member of the former crowd, I snapped the bodyboarder’s picture from the safety of shore.

In fact, I took all the pictures in this post from the safe sidelines.

Particularly at the Pipe Masters Tournament. [Read more…]

Don’t Stop. You’re Almost There!

Don't stop because you're tired. Keep going because you're almost there. (Mom's Thought for the Week with Traci Burns) via www.JeanWilund.comDon’t stop
because you’re tired.

Keep going
because you’re
almost there!

(Mom’s Thought for the Week with Traci Burns)

My friend Traci Burns sent me her Mom’s Thought for the Week.

Now you have it, too. You’re welcome.

I needed to hear this today. Did you kamagra 100mg?

I’ll make you a deal. I won’t give up if you don’t.

Actually, I’m not giving up even if you do. But don’t you give up. You’re almost there!

Besides, we’d just have to start over if we quit. Let’s keep going instead.

But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!
~ Habakkuk 2:3

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
~ Isaiah 41:10
