God – The Ultimate Know-It-All (Part 1)

Mensa, otherwise known as The Society of Know-It-Alls, admitted little Elise Tan-Roberts into their club in 2009 when she was only 845 days old.

At 2-years old, her IQ was 156, just short of Albert Einstein’s 160. Not too shabby.

She could talk at 5-months old.

She could recite 35 of the world’s capitals at age 2.

Imagine what God’s IQ is if it could be measured? [Read more…]

Don’t Misunderstand the Song “What a Beautiful Name” — Jesus Doesn’t Need You, But He Wants You

Don't Misunderstand the song "What a Beautiful Name" by Hillsong ~ Jesus Doesn't Need You, But He Wants You (via www.JeanWilund.com)I Misunderstood

The first time I heard What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong I misunderstood.

The song is topping the charts and played in churches around the world — and I’m not saying it’s wrong — but something about it sat wrong with me.

The line about Jesus not wanting heaven without you and me seemed off.

(Believe it or not, due to copyright laws, I’m not allowed to quote the line in the song. Crazy world we live in! But you can read the lyric in the music video below.)

That line bothered me only because it could be misunderstood.

It sounded to me like the song was saying:

Jesus didn’t want Heaven if we couldn’t be in it.

It wasn’t complete without us.

He needed us so He came down to get us.

Doesn’t that sound sweet? Don’t you feel loved?

Except, No! [Read more…]

Life Is Either a Daring Adventure Or Nothing At All ~ Take It On!

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. Trust God and take it on. (Ephesians 3:20) via www.Jeanwilund.com

No Fear

The bodyboarder on the island of Kauai had no fear — or perhaps no sense.

He crouched on the beach and studied the waves.

Ignoring ones reasonable men would choose, he waited on the ridiculous waves. Waves that would tower over his head and possess the power to crush him.

Only then did he charge. Straight into them. Fearless.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
-Helen Keller

Some of us stand before crushing waves and see terror. Others see a daring adventure.

As a staunch member of the former crowd, I snapped the bodyboarder’s picture from the safety of shore.

In fact, I took all the pictures in this post from the safe sidelines.

Particularly at the Pipe Masters Tournament. [Read more…]

Don’t Stop. You’re Almost There!

Don't stop because you're tired. Keep going because you're almost there. (Mom's Thought for the Week with Traci Burns) via www.JeanWilund.comDon’t stop
because you’re tired.

Keep going
because you’re
almost there!

(Mom’s Thought for the Week with Traci Burns)

My friend Traci Burns sent me her Mom’s Thought for the Week.

Now you have it, too. You’re welcome.

I needed to hear this today. Did you kamagra 100mg?

I’ll make you a deal. I won’t give up if you don’t.

Actually, I’m not giving up even if you do. But don’t you give up. You’re almost there!

Besides, we’d just have to start over if we quit. Let’s keep going instead.

But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!
~ Habakkuk 2:3

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
~ Isaiah 41:10

Always Reaching. Never Satisfied. What Are You Reaching For?

What are you reaching for? Everything we reach for, the Greatest Champion Jesus Christ already has." (www.thegreatestchampion.org) via www.JeanWilund.com

Reaching.

“We live in a culture that is reaching for anything and everything but at least for something.

Something new.

Something bigger.

Something to hold onto.

Reaching becomes a habit that is never satisfying.

However . . . “

Oh, what a powerful However it is.

“However . . .

Everything we reach for, the Greatest Champion Jesus Christ already has.”

Satisfied.

What are you reaching for?

Or maybe the better question is: WHO are you reaching for?

Jesus Christ not only already has it. He is it.

He is our peace, our comfort, and our freedom. He is our all.

For in Him we live and move and have our being . . . Acts 17:28

Everything we reach for, the #GreatestChampion #JesusChrist already has. Amen! @JackEasterby Click To Tweet

Sick of WHAT, Give me WHO — Reading the Bible for Transformation, Not Information

Reading the Bible seem boring or discouraging? Start looking for the WHO (the Lord), not the WHAT (the rules). I was sick of the WHAT until I found the WHO. Reading the Bible for Transformation, Not Information via www.jeanwilund.com

Sick of What. Give me Who.

I stared at my Bible and thought, I really should read it, but I don’t want to.

Tired of being reminded of all the commands I’d break before bedtime — before breakfast if I’m being honest — I sighed.

How do some Christians live with power and faith that could move mountains — perhaps even literally — and I just live? I know there’s more to this Christian life than existence! What am I missing?

And then a thought struck me.

I bet the answer is in the Bible. Perhaps it’s time to read the whole thing.

I picked up my Bible and prayed, “Show me Yourself, God, on every page. I’m sick of rules to keep in hopes of becoming a better Christian. I just want to see You, Lord. Amen.”

I wanted transformation, not information — the Who of the Bible, not the What.

I was sick of What. Give me Who. Please!

REALITY SUNK IN

“It is finished,” He’d cried.

Then He lowered His head

and gave up His Spirit.

Jesus’ followers watched as the earth moved.

Reality sunk in.

Jesus was gone.

They laid Him in a tomb.

A stone sealed away hope.

Reality sunk in.

Jesus was gone.

The disciples mourned.

One day.

The world slept.

Two days.

Reality sunk in.

Jesus was gone.
